Yemen’s army foiled a major terrorist operation targeting several sites in the southeastern Hadramout region on Wednesday, Saudi state-news channel Al-Ekhbariya reported.
In a statement to the Yemeni Ministry of Defense’s official site, “September Net,” Hadramout’s governor said that Al-Qaeda was prepared to attack several sites in Mukalla by the end of Ramadan and during Eid.
The official said military, security, and intelligence forces raided terrorist cells and confiscated several weapons including 28 explosive devices, two thermal rockets, three bags of high-grade C4 explosives and large quantities of ammunition.
