A Sanaa court convicted three Yemeni journalists of inter-confessional sedition Tuesday, giving them five-month suspended prison terms, their lawyer said.
Abdel Rahim Mohsen, Ibrahim Hussein and Khaled Sulaiman were sentenced for a series of articles published in February in the weekly newspaper Ath-Thawri, Jamal al-Jahbi told AFP.
The information ministry filed the complaint. "We respect the justice system ... but we regard the verdict as a condemnation which affects freedom of statement, and that is why we reserve the right to lodge an appeal," the lawyer added. (Albawaba.com)
