Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh met Saturday with his Somali counterpart, Abdulkassim Salat Hassan, to examine ways to consolidate national reconciliation in Somalia, the official Yemeni news agency SABA reported.
Salat was appointed as president by a transitional parliament in September, becoming the first head of state in the faction-riven country for several years.
That same month, the country's four principal warlords said they were open to a restoration of peace in the country, and they called on Salat to work toward that end in collaboration with the international community.
