Yemenia Airlines is scheduled to receive a new airbus (B737) on Thursday to join the Yemen's fleet.

The new plane is the first amongst three planes that the company has contracted on in order to promote the fleet’s performance and broaden its lines, chairman of Yemenia Airlines Abdulkhaliq al-Qadi said.

Al-Qadi added that the two other planes would join the fleet in August and that procedures are on their way to contract on two far-distance and big capacity airbuses to meet the needs of long lines to southeastern Asia, according to SABA.

Al-Qadi stressed that the company plans on expanding the network of internal lines and increasing the number of flights through joining two planes (50-70 passengers) by the beginning of the year 2003. (Albawaba.com)
