ALBAWABA - President Vladimir Zelensky fired the Ukrainian State Security Service Director after Ukrainian intelligence arrested employees for an alleged assassination plot.

Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky fired his personal security head. After defeating a purported Russian conspiracy to assassinate Zelensky, this move heightened tensions between the neighbors.

Anti-aircraft units quickly neutralized the Ukrainian drone, according to the Moscow Mayor's Office. Russian media reports the oil refinery fire's massive damage.

Concerns have increased after the SBU revealed five Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) agents planning killings on Zelensky and other high-ranking military and political officials. Two Ukrainian State Security Service colonels were arrested for passing information to Russian intelligence, worsening the situation.

Early Friday morning, anti-aircraft defense forces intercepted a Ukrainian drone aircraft south of Moscow. The interception caused no injuries or losses, but a drone attack allegedly started a fire at an oil refinery west of Moscow.

Bryansk's governor reported that three Ukrainian drones were downed overnight without harm. Further, the Ministry of Defense reported the capture of two more drones near Belgorod, along the border between the two countries.

As Ukraine launches drone assaults on Russian territory, the war between Russia and Ukraine escalates. Such attacks have mostly targeted oil processing sites, but hitting Moscow is a worrying escalation.
