A Court of Misdemeanors in Ras Al Khaimah heard the case of a man accused of insulting his wife after arguing about the color of bananas.
According to Emarat Al Youm, the argument began after the man brought home green bananas after grocery shopping.
His wife demanded, after expressing her surprise at their rich, verdant shade, that he exchange them for the customary golden-colored bananas.
The argument escalated into a row that included disagreements regarding the man denying their children from going out and socializing with others. He claimed that she was unhappy about his stance on not allowing them to befriend and spend time with the wrong crowds. The judge postponed the verdict for the case until the next hearing.
