ALBAWABA - Social media platforms were flooded yesterday with the story of the US Air Force member Aaron Bushnell who burnt himself in front of the Israeli embassy in Washington DC. 

Aaron Bushnell, 25, took a video of himself while setting himself on fire. In the footage, which went viral online, Aaron Bushnell was seen outside the Israeli embassy in Washington when he started to introduce himself, then he said he would no longer be complicit in "genocide".

His last words when he was on fire were "Free Palestine" in protest of the Israeli war in Gaza during which at least 29,692 Palestinians have been killed, mostly women and children, and 69,879 injured in Israeli aggressive attacks. Hours after the incident, the US announced the death of Aaron Bushnell, an active US Air Force member.

Following the incident in front of the Israeli embassy in the US, many activists took to social media to mount the death of the airman Aaron Bushnell. 

However, many others searched to view his last posts on social media.

AlArabiya reported that it had found Aaron Bushnell's Facebook account and shared his last post on the platform. Here are the last words by Aaron Bushnell, according to AlArabiya:

He wrote: "Many of us like to ask ourselves, 'What would I do if I was alive during slavery? Or the Jim Crow South? Or apartheid? What would I do if my country was committing genocide?'
The answer is, you’re doing it. Right now."

Earlier, CNN reported citing the Washington Metropolitan Police Department: "The Metropolitan Police Department responded to the 3500 block of International Drive, NW, at approximately 1:00 p.m., to assist the United States Secret Service after an individual set themselves on fire in front of an embassy in the block."

Meanwhile, a spokesperson from the Israeli Embassy clarified that no one in the embassy was "injured" and that everyone is safe.
