ALBAWABA - Hours ago, the Syrian opposition factions led by Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham announced on Sunday the collapse of Bashar Assad's regime as rebels were seen inside the capital Damascus.

At the same time, Reuters cited sources that Assad had left Damascus for an unknown location on a plane that flew and then disappeared from the map.

Axios reported that the alleged plane carrying the Syrian ousted President Bashar Assad was heading northwest and then turned near Homs city. The American newspaper added that the plane rapidly "decreased its altitude before disappearing."

In addition, some sources allegedly said that Lebanon had rejected a request that the plane land in the country before it disappeared from the map.

Following the disappearance of Assad's plane from the map, many theories emerged on social media regarding the fate of the ousted president of Syria.

Many anti-regime accounts claimed that the Syrian opposition rebels could have shot it down shortly before it flew away. On the other hand, some others allegedly said it could have crashed by itself due to a glitch.
