ALBAWABA - US President Joe Biden visited East Palestine, Ohio, to show support for the community hit by a chemical accident last year. Despite some people being upset about his late visit, Biden wanted to prove that the tap water in the area is safe. So, he took a sip of tap water and coffee while he was there.
During his visit to Ohio, Biden checked out the town, met with local businesses, and talked with people who live there.
Biden said they're working on ways to help the town get better, like with programs to boost the economy. Even though some folks weren't happy he didn't come sooner, Biden made a point to stop by a local store and drink the tap water to show it's okay, despite the chemical accident.
Officials from the Environmental Protection Agency said they checked the water and didn't find anything bad, so it's safe to drink.
Meanwhile, in Gaza, a lot of people have been hurt by a chemical accident, adding to the worries about dangerous chemicals.
There was a big accident on February 3 where a train carrying chemicals derailed near East Palestine, causing a lot of damage.
Because of the chemicals spreading, people had to leave the area for safety. Some people got sick from the chemicals, and even animals died because of it.
The company that owns the train said they're sorry and are helping clean up the area and giving money to people affected by the accident.
