Clashes erupted outside a Los Angeles screening of the film "Bearing Witness," organized by actress Gal Gadot, who did not attend.

On Wednesday night in Los Angeles, tensions flared outside the screening of "Bearing Witness," a 43-minute film documenting the Hamas attack on Israel that took place on October 7.

The film, described as "extremely graphic and violent," comprises raw footage captured during the attacks in southern Israel, including material from cameras worn by Hamas gunmen.

The event, held at L.A.'s Museum of Tolerance, drew around 200 attendees, including an Israel Defense Forces (IDF) official, Israel's ambassador to the United Nations, and Hollywood executives. Notably absent from the screening was Israeli actress Gal Gadot, who was rumored to have played a role in organizing the event. While her husband, Yaron Varsano, and the film's director, Guy Nattiv, were present, Gadot's absence raised questions.

Reportedly, Gadot refrained from attending out of concerns for her own safety, as the event saw a heavy police presence both inside and outside the museum. However, this did not prevent clashes between opposing groups outside the venue. According to local news reports, altercations ensued, with punches thrown and pepper spray used. At least one person was detained by law enforcement, and a photographer had his glasses broken during the scuffles.

The screening's location was disclosed online shortly before the event, which led to threats against the museum in the days leading up to the screening. The film itself elicited strong reactions, with some viewers unable to continue watching due to the harrowing content.

In response Hamas's attack, Israel responded with constant bombardment of Gaza. More than 10,500 Palestinians have been killed in the besieged enclave since October 7.
