ALBAWABA - An Israeli incitement campaign sparked outrage on social media during the weekend after depicting the destruction of Jerusalem's Al-Aqsa Mosque in an AI-generated video.

Additionally, the video also showcased a Jewish temple being built after the mosque's destruction with a sentence that allegedly read, "Coming soon in these days" written in Hebrew. Pro-Palestine activists and Muslims swarmed several platforms to express their anger about the offensive video.

A user wrote on Musk's X (formerly Twitter), "How come they were able to create it in AI without triggering multiple violations??"

Another wrote in response, "Guess who owns the AI companies?"

While many took to social media in anger, other pro-Palestine and human rights activists urged individuals to ignore the video and focus on more important topics, such as the ongoing Israeli aggression in Gaza and the displacement of Palestinians.

Several others claimed that the video was posted to reportedly draw attention away from the war in Gaza. An X user wrote:

"Ignore it. Israel wants to keep us busy. We must focus on actions, activities and sanctions that have the capacity to prevent genocide. Please share these important warning messages. It is vital that every facility, factory, logistics and all roads that provide ammunition to Israel be blocked. We must unite and take steps to save Gaza."

The Israeli campaign video garnered millions of views across several social media platforms. Users speculated that the temple that rose after depicting the destruction of Al-Aqsa Mosque was the Temple of Solomon, a biblical temple built in Jerusalem by King Solomon around 950 B.C.E, according to the Jewish Virtual Library.
