ALBAWABA - Speculations about the fate of the Supreme Commander of the Libyan National Army (LNA), Khalifa Haftar, emerged online after claims that he could have suffered a health emergency.

During his visit to Russia, many people took to social media platforms claiming that Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar, 81, died of a stroke after he was taken to the hospital. What caused the rumor to spread fast was that the Libyan military leader had not appeared following his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in the Kremlin.

An X user posted a photo of the Libyan strongman and wrote: "Unconfirmed reports indicate that Khalifa Haftar died at the age of 83 in a Moscow hospital after suffering a stroke.
Since he went to Russia, he has not appeared or returned."

The person added: "With the events taking place in Tripoli, his absence and that of his children were recorded. The news of his death spread widely today in Libya, and no one from the eastern region has denied the news so far."

On May 10, the Kremlin posted several photos of Putin and Khalifa Haftar, saying it was taken during the meeting between "the President of Russia and Supreme Commander of the Libyan National Army (LNA), Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar."

Others allegedly said that the Libyan commander could only be sick.

Did Khalifa Haftar Die of a stroke in Russia?

No official sources denied or confirmed the rumors that have been going on online for the last couple of days regarding the health disappearance of Khalifa Haftar, the Supreme Commander of the LNA.

However, such allegations regarding the Libyan military man are not the first; he faced death rumors multiple times before, where people used to spread fake news online saying Hafat died, and after that, they turned out to be rumors only.
