ALBAWABA - After news circulated and videos swarmed social media of ex-US President Donald Trump nearly getting assassinated by a shooter at one of his rallies, users took to X (formerly known as Twitter) and speculated if The Simpsons were finally wrong about its future predictions.

The picture showed Donald Trump dead in a coffin which first went viral back in 2020 when the ex-president fell ill from COVID-19. Take in mind that the image in question was debunked and deemed fake as The Simpsons did show Trump in its show but never dead.

Following a failed assassination attempt, the FBI announced the identification of the shooter, Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20, of Pennsylvania. Users took to X and voiced their opinions about the fake picture circulating:

"The Simpsons underestimated Trump so hard."

"This world must be scripted. 💀 How the f**k did The Simpsons predict what happened to Trump today?"

The rally in question took place in Butler, Pennsylvania as gunshots were heard. Moreover, Trump was spotted bleeding from his ear since a bullet grazed it as security personnel tried to escort him.

To show his courage while he was being protected, Donald Trump stood his ground and raised his fist in the air to show the audience that everything was ok.

Unfortunately, an innocent man was shot dead and two were injured due to the assassination attempt, according to local authorities.

It was confirmed that the Secret Service shot Crooks dead after the shooting took place, as reported by AP.
