ALBAWABA - Former US President and current candidate Donald Trump took to his official X account (Formerly known as Twitter) and said that Iran is allegedly targeting him for assassination with his campaign "Trump Vance 2024" also releasing a statement about the issue at hand.
He said in a post on X, "Big threats on my life by Iran. The entire U.S. Military is watching and waiting. Moves were already made by Iran that didn’t work out, but they will try again."
Donald Trump added that he's surrounded by men, guns, and weapons to protect him from Iran adding that he's not been surrounded by this many ever. Moreover, he went on to say that an attack on a former president is a "Death Wish for the attacker."
Donald Trump accuses Iran of plotting an assassination
Trump took to X when he was briefed by the Director of National Intelligence that his life was on the line amid continued and tightening attacks in the past few months, referring to the two recent assassination attempts.
The statement added that all responsible officials are working to ensure Trump's safety and that the elections go safely and uninterrupted.
On Sep. 15, 2024, a gunshot was fired close to Donald Trump while he was playing golf at his Palm Beach property, making it the second time the former president was nearly assassinated with the first being at one of his rallies in Pennsylvania.
Before that, Trump was also nearly assassinated at one of his Pennsylvania campaigns by 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks with the bullet grazing his ear and nearly hitting him in the head on Jul. 13, 2024.
