'Donald Trumps Death': The Times of India's headline sparks controversy

ALBAWABA - The Times of India newspaper has ignited controversy after publishing its latest edition featuring the failed assassination attempt against former US President Donald Trump. 

The Times of India wrote in huge bold font "Donald Trumps Death" sparking w huge debate about whether the newspaper was unaware of what happened on Saturday evening or if it was a smart, tricky headline that needed just an extra chance to understand. 

Donald Trump experienced a failed assassination attempt at a campaign rally in Pennsylvania, FBI identified the shooter as Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20. The Republican candidate was injured slightly in his right ear, but his health is good. One was killed and two others were injured at the rally.

FBI revealed that it completed the investigation and search operation inside the house and car of the suspect and announced finding two improvised explosive devices in Crooks' car and one in his home.

'Donald Trumps Death': The Times of India's headline sparks controversy

Despite that Donald Trump was marked safe after the attempted assassination attack on July 13, The Times of India's headline has sparked wide debate. "Donald Trumps Death," the newspaper wrote. 

Despite that, some social media users said that there was a "typo" in the headline and assumed it could be "misleading", but many wrote  "It's a clever title," hinting out that the newspaper's headline was not a mistake but was written smartly to draw attention. 

A person on X clarified: "This headline simply meant - Donald Trump Won Over Death, that's why the word "Trumps" was used cleverly by the learned editors of the Old Lady."

Another added: "But the larger point is, should newspapers now start to deliberately cleverly write headlines, so that those headlines go viral on social media."
