ALBAWABA - Through a post on X, formerly Twitter, Dublin Airport advertised for a new coffee hub, Vista Coffee, quoted: "Brewing up a storm! Our new Vista Coffee outlet opened in Terminal 1 this morning and it’s already going down very well with passengers. ☕️".
Tables full and queues lining up with busy baristas getting all the orders ready, Dublin Airport posted several pictures of the newly opened coffee place under the name Vista Coffee in the same spot where Starbucks formerly occupied.
Social media users stormed the replies to Dublin Airport's post when they noticed that the new coffee place is still using Starbucks' menu and cups. Some speculated that the rebranding move is only a PR stunt to avoid the boycott calls towards Starbucks relating to the ongoing Israeli war on Gaza.
One user wondered: "Did they just de-brand the Starbucks to get around boycott?? Still using the menu".
Another commented: "This attempt to rebrand Starbucks during a global boycott of it is beyond transparent and poorly conceived".
One X user pointed out that the new Vista Coffee has zero presence on social media, making the opening an even more suspicious move!
"I think this is still Starbucks they've just rebranded the name of the café to try and avoid the ongoing boycott. If you zoom in you can see the Starbucks menu, plus they're still using Starbucks cups! There's also zero online presence for "Vista Coffee" - it doesn't exist!"
