ALBAWABA - The beloved World Record Egg is once again the talk of the internet after taking to its official Instagram account and asking its followers to break a new world record with an egg that has Palestine's flag on it.
The post in question was made to spread awareness about the ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza that resulted in the killing of at least 36,439 Palestinians and injuring more than 82,627 since Oct. 7, 2023.
Egg for Peace: World Record Egg stands with Palestine
By the time of writing this article, since it was first published 14 hours ago on Jun. 3, 2024, the Palestinian egg garnered more than 400,000 likes and made headlines worldwide. The account which has 4.7 million followers expressed its interest in beating its previous world record which was held by Argentinian football player Lionel Messi. Here's what the caption said:
"Let’s set a new world record together and get the most liked post on Instagram for a good cause. Beating the current world record held by Leo Messi (70 Million)! Egg for Peace #EggGang"
Users across Instagram took to the comment section and voiced their opinions on the matter. Some were quite annoyed that a "Meme" was "Going political" and some said that they "Stand with Israel" while others had nothing but positive comments to write:
"Free Palestine and Gaza!"
"Eyes on Rafah."
"Hell yeah! Egg supports Palestine."
"I knew the egg was GOATED."

By the time of writing this article, the ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza since Oct. 7, 2023, has resulted in the killing of more than 36,000 Palestinians of whom are children (not counting the ones buried under the rubble), as reported by the ministry of health in Gaza.
Additionally, at least 82,000 Palestinians since Oct. 7 were injured due to the constant bombardment from Israel leaving many Gazans homeless, displaced, and malnourished.
