ALBAWABA - Dozens of women took to the streets in Iraq to protest against the closure of the Rafah border crossing between Egypt and the Gaza Strip amid aggressive attacks Israel launched against Gaza on Oct. 7.
"There is no god but God, El-Sisi is the enemy of God," Iraqi women chanted during the protests calling Egyptian president Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to open the border and allow humanitarian aid to enter the Palestinian side.
The protests took place in front of the Egyptian Consulate in Baghdad and demanded the opening of the Rafah crossing amid the famine Palestinians are facing amid the lack of aid trucks entering the strip.
According to medical sources from the Ministry of Health in Gaza, at least 27 children have died due to malnutrition amid the lack of access to food and clean water.
The United Nations posted a report of the latest analysis from the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) partnership released today warns that the situation in Gaza is "catastrophic".
The report further added that northern Gaza is facing "imminent famine" and the rest of the Strip at risk as well.
