ALBAWABA - The Iranian Embassy in Lebanon has released a statement clarifying the truth about the health condition of Ambassador Mojtaba Amani who was injured in Israel's pager attack on Sept. 17.
The attack was carried out by a joint operation between Mossad and the Israeli military targeting pager devices causing their explosion in Lebanon and Syria.
The New York Times reported that Israel secretly planted explosives inside a batch of pager devices ordered from Gold Apollo company by Hezbollah. However, Gold Apollo founder and chairman Hsu Ching-kuang confirmed to the media on Wednesday that his firm had signed a contract with a European distributor to use the Gold Apollo brand and that his company is not related to the attack on Sept. 17.
Initial reports confirmed that the Iranian ambassador in Lebanon was injured when pager devices exploded. However, many rumors circulated online that the ambassador's condition is critical.
Many people took online to claim that Ambassador Mojtaba Amani had lost one of his eyes due to the Israeli pager attack yesterday which killed nine people and injured more than 2,800 others.
