ALBAWABA - Iraqis have turned online to express their surprise at the messages they received on their phones regarding the continuation of the coalition in Baghdad.

The Iraqi government has stressed the importance of withdrawing all foreign forces from the country, however, the Pentagon said that it is not the right time to take coalition forces out of Iraq.

Meanwhile, the government, led by Prime Minister Mohammed Shia' Al Sudani, asked its citizens for the first time to share their opinions about the international coalition forces remaining in the country.

In the past few days, a large number of Iraqis received a question via an SMS message on their phones, which read: "Dear citizen... Do you support the continuation of the international coalition’s mission in Iraq?"

Moreover, a link was added to the text of the message to answer the question.

The request by the Iraqi government comes amid a crisis in relations between Baghdad and the United States, which leads the coalition forces, as it recently launched a series of attacks on sites and leading figures in the armed factions, in response to the attacks carried out by the latter against sites and camps where American forces are located in Iraq and Syria, in solidarity with Gaza.
