ALBAWABA - The spokesperson for the Israeli forces, Avichay Adraee, posted on his official X account justifying the killing of Palestinian journalists Hamza Al Dahdouh and Mustafa Thurayyah on Jan. 7.
Adraee claimed that Hamza, son of Al Jazeera journalist Wael Al Dahdouh, and his colleague Thurayyah belong to "terrorist organizations".
The spokesperson allegedly said: "Revealing the affiliation of Hamza al-Dahdouh and Mustafa Thuraya to terrorist organizations." He continued that the Israeli army found documents allegedly "proving" that both journalists are supporting "terrorist organizations" in the Gaza Strip; Hamas and Al Quds Brigades.
On Jan. 7, Al Jazeera journalist Hamza Al Dahdouh and his colleague Mustafa Thurayyah were killed in an Israeli raid that targeted their vehicle in Khan Younis, southern Gaza.
Gaza's media office released a statement condemning the tragic event: "We condemn in the strongest terms this heinous crime. These continuing crimes committed by the Israeli occupation army against journalists are aimed at intimidating them and is an unsuccessful attempt to blur the truth and prevent them from reporting the ongoing genocide".
However, the Israeli army spokesperson accused the two Palestinian journalists of allegedly activating a drone in a way that posed a threat to Israeli forces, forcing Air Force planes to attack and strike their car.
In the alleged documents, which Adraee claimed to be obtained by the army from Gaza during ground operation, Mustafa Thuraya is considered a "Hamas member".

He claimed to have obtained documents found in which Al-Dahdouh’s name is on a list of members in the field of electronic engineering who are affiliated with Islamic Jihad.
