ALBAWABA - After a request by the United States to open an investigation into the killing of 6-year-old Palestinian girl Hind Rajab, Israel released a statement denying involvement in her death following an initial investigation.
According to an early probe by the Israeli army, it suggested that no troops were in the area when Hind Rajab was killed. Despite the phone call which was released by the Palestine Red Crescent Society in which the Palestinian child said that an Israeli tank was near the car she was inside, The Times of Israel reported.
Red Crescent earlier released the last call with Hind, and said that Israel targeted the family of the Palestinian child, and then attacked the ambulance it sent to rescue Hind Rajab.
In detail, Hind spent hours on the phone with a Red Crescent rescuer begging for help after all her family members were killed by Israeli forces in Gaza.
After sending an ambulance to the scene, Hind Rajab and the two rescue workers went missing for days before the three were found killed. The bodies of the Palestinian child and two PRCS paramedics; Yusef Al-Zaino and Ahmed Al-Madhoun, were found on Feb. 10, after they all went missing for 12 days.
Red Crescent said that Israel targeted the ambulance which was near the car where Hind Rajab was leading to their death.
Hind Rajab's last words were: "The tank (Israeli forces) is next to me," and "It is moving, yes," the 6-year-old said. She added that the tank is very very close to the car she was in.
