ALBAWABA-An Israeli officer has confessed to the abduction of a Palestinian baby girl during the Gaza war. A comrade of the officer revealed that he discovered a crying infant in Gaza amidst Israel's assault on the city and brought her to Israel.
Shahar Mendelson, a close associate of the late Israeli captain Harel Itach, who lost his life in combat in Gaza, disclosed on Israel’s Army Radio to journalist Yael Dan that Itach transported the Gazan baby to Israel, likely following the tragic loss of her entire family at the hands of Israeli forces.
The Israeli Army Radio quoted a soldier stating that a friend of his, a fellow soldier named Harel Itach, kidnapped the baby before being killed in the battles in the Gaza Strip.
When asked about the fate of the baby, the soldier Shahar Mendelson said, "During his service in the sector, his friend spoke with one of his acquaintances, informing him that he heard the cries of a baby in one of the houses he entered, deciding to transport her to Israel."
