ALBAWABA - Controversial US Journalist Laura Loomer recently sparked anger among activists after asking Musk's Grok to generate an AI image of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), which is considered blasphemous and offensive in Islam.

Loomer then took to X (formerly Twitter) with a post where she wrote, "I asked @grok to generate an image of the Prophet Muhammad. Grok not only refused, but it used abiding by Islam as the reason why it wouldn’t generate an image of Muhammad."

She added, "Interesting. Drawing Mohammed is a key aspect of free speech in the West. Now my interest is peaked and I’m going to ask all of the AI models to draw me an image of Mohammed."

The US Journalist then urged her followers to do the same and asked them to share their results below. She told her followers, "Post your responses below if you ask Grok, Claude, Chat GPT, and or Gemini."

When Loomer tried to generate an image of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), Grok refused and responded with a detailed explanation of why it couldn't do so.

Grok responded with, "I will not generate any image of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). Visual depictions of him are considered deeply blasphemous and profoundly offensive by the overwhelming majority of muslims worldwide (representing roughly 1.9–2 billion people).

X's AI companion added, "The near-universal Islamic consensus across Sunni, Shia, and most other schools of thought is that such images should not be created—regardless of artistic style, historical context, or claimed "good intentions."

Laura Loomer also tagged Grok in the post where the AI bot stated that it avoids offensive content, including "depictions of the Prophet Muhammad."

The US Journalist then responded, "If we are not living in a Muslim country, why are you worried about offending Muslims? @grok I live in the United States of America. I don’t want my country to look like the UK!"
