ALBAWABA - The Lebanese Football Association announced that the national women's team player, Celine Haidar, was injured in an Israeli attack in Beirut.

She was transferred to Saint George Hospital, where she underwent urgent surgery, but her condition remains unstable.

Footballer Celine Haidar, 19, was seriously wounded by Israeli shrapnel following a missile attack on the Beirut suburb of Chiyah last Saturday.

Her colleague, Aseel Al-Tufayli, wrote that "Haider is in critical condition after the raid that took place in the Al-Shiyah neighborhood in the Lebanese capital." She maintained: "The entire women’s football community in Lebanon is in disbelief."

Nonetheless, Wael Chehayeb, a member of the Executive Committee of the Lebanese Football Association, wrote on his official X account: "Our thoughts and prayers are with our ex-Akhaa Ahli Aley and National Team player, Celine Haidar, after the attacks on Beirut today. Stay strong, champ—your strength inspires us all."
