ALBAWABA - With many people calling for boycotting many fast-food chains and cafes for allegedly supporting the ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza, McDonald's came up with a statement and faced even more backlash for their "insensitive" and "half-baked" announcement.
The hashtag "#boycottmcdonalds" is trending again on X (formerly Twitter) because of the statement embedded below as users urged people around the world to boycott the fast-food chain and Starbucks for allegedly supporting Israel.
McDonald's faces giant losses and worldwide boycotts
McDonald's referred to the ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza as a "Middle East Conflict" which triggered even more users as the only people affected by this are the ones who lost their families including children, significant others, friends, and relatives.
The fast food chain went on to add that it doesn't support or fund any government that has to do with the ongoing "conflict" which users called "a lie" and continued to say that they will do whatever they can to "keep their people in the region safe" which sounds very vague raising questions on who the people are.

Pro-Palestine activists and users on social media continued to urge people to boycott such companies and stated that the boycotting is working as many chains are facing financial issues such as in North African countries including Morocco and Egypt.
Here's what several users had to say on X:
"Keep boycotting"
"Don't forget to #BoycottMcDonalds - not only because they suck, but because they support Zionist apartheid genocide."
"#BoycottMcDonalds because at least 90% of its menu is no good for you."
"Keep BOYCOTTING child killers."
