ALBAWABA - Youssef Tazi, 12, became the youngest and the first Arab boy to climb Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania.
"The impossible is not Moroccan," using these words, the Moroccan child celebrated his victory in climbing the 5,895-meter mountain.
Youssef's father, Omar Tazi, posted a video showing his son carrying the Moroccan flag and a photo of Morocco's President Mohammed VI.
He posted on his Instagram account and wrote: "This achievement didn't only raise my name, but also the name of my entire country. I am very happy to represent my country proudly on the international stage, and to honor the children and youth of our beloved country."

His father earlier posted celebrating his boy's achievement in clamping Turkey's top mountain: "I am honored by the exceptional achievement that my 12-year-old son, Youssef Tazi, achieved, armed with his passion, courage, and solid determination, to raise the national flag over the highest mountain peak in Turkey, with a height of 5,165 metres, after a five-day mountain trip full of lessons and challenges. Thus, Youssef, praise be to God, becomes the youngest Moroccan climber. He challenges fear, confronts the cold weather and lack of oxygen, and exceeds the 5,000-meter altitude barrier."
Youssef's journey extended for five days (from Jan. 16 to 20, 2024), along a 68-kilometer route, after a full year of preparations, through endurance training and consultation with doctors, professional mountaineers, and guides.
