ALBAWABA - Israel's Mossad and IDF recently issued a joint statement announcing that they recovered the body of Sgt. First Class Zvi Feldman after 43 years. The Israeli soldier went missing during the Battle of Sultan Yacoub between Israel and Syria during the 1982 Lebanon War.

The statement added that Feldman's body was recovered in the "heart of Syria" after Israel launched a "complex and covert operation" into "enemy territory," with claims stating that efforts for its recovery have been ongoing for decades.

According to the Times of Israel, Zvi Feldman went missing alongside two other soldiers, Yehuda Katz and Zachary Baumel, during the war. However, Baumel's body was recovered and returned to Israel in 2019.

On the contrary, Yehuda Katz's body is still missing, but Israeli authorities claim that

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu released a statement that read, "For decades, Zvika was missing, and the efforts to locate him, along with the other missing soldiers from that same battle, never ceased for a moment."

Moreover, Israeli activists welcomed Feldman's body and raised awareness about the hostages taken by Hamas, whether alive or dead, due to the ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza since Oct. 7, 2023, as they demanded their return.
