ALBAWABA - In the latest pressure on women's rights, Iranian police decided to close the Turkish Airlines office in the capital Tehran, Tasnim news agency reported on Tuesday, confirming that it was due to female workers' refusal to wear hijab.

It is worth noting that the hijab is compulsory to wear in the Islamic Republic of Iran as there are also morality police to ensure mandatory headscarves in public places.

On Tuesday, Iran Iran shut down the Turkish Airlines office in the capital of Tehran after female employees there apparently refused to wear hijab.

The semi-official news agency reported that policemen head to the Turkish Airlines office in Tehran on Monday to make their first warning over the "non-observance of hijab" by employees.

However, the Iranian-national employees as reported by Iranian media "made trouble for the police officers," prompting the closure of the office.

Despite the Turkish Airlines office's comment that it will be allowed to reopen on Wednesday and resume work, the Iranian police didn't confirm the reopening of the office.

Tasnim added police would not permanently close any business due to the 'non-observance of hijab' but issue first warnings.
