ALBAWABA - Time magazine picked American Singer Taylor Swift as Person of the Year 2023, however, activists had a different opinion on who should be chosen to be Time's Person of the Year 2023.
According to Time magazine, the US pop superstar Taylor Swift is the Person of the Year, she was named on Wednesday and the magazine clarified that she was picked for calling the musical force of nature the "hero of her own story."
On the other hand, many pro-Palestinian activists had the opposite opinion, a Palestinian grandfather who lost his family in Israeli airstrikes on the Gaza Strip has replaced Taylor Swift and became Person of the Year 2023 for many people across the world.
After appearing in a heartbreaking video hugging the body of his granddaughter Reem, 3, who was killed in an Israeli raid, and kissing her cheeks and wiping her eyes, the Palestinian grandfather made the whole world cry with him.
A post was shared on X (formerly Twitter) showing Palestinian grandfather Khaled Nabhan's photo replacing Taylor Swift on Time magazine's cover as the Person of the Year 2023.
Nonetheless, many other advocates also said that Gazan journalists are all considered the Person of the Year 2023 due to their "brave and fearless" hearts in covering the truth and capturing Israeli aggressive attacks on Gaza.
