ALBAWABA - The Nachala settlement movement reported that about 700 families in Israel have expressed their desire and registered to populate "six potential settlements" in Gaza, The Wall Street Journal reported.

The American newspaper reported citing Daniella Weiss, the head of the Nachala settlement movement that hundreds of families are preparing themselves to move to Gaza amid Israel's plans to build settlements there.

TRT World reported that earlier this week, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's Likud party held an event titled "Preparing to Settle Gaza," which is part of an initiative by Nachala movement. The event is scheduled near the border of the Gaza Strip.

It is worth mentioning that the Nachala Settlement Movement works actively to launch new illegal settlements in the occupied West Bank.

Daniella Weiss said: "You will witness how Jews go to Gaza and Arabs disappear from Gaza."

Pro-Palestinian activists were angered especially following the release of the event's poster which reads: "Gaza is ours. Forever".

An X user wrote a comment: "We've heard many times that Israel isn't interested in Gaza; they are not going to occupy Gaza, etc. Unfortunately, reality says the contrary when an Israeli minister participates in the so-called settlement nucleus conference of the Nachala movement, which proposes plans to occupy some if not all of the Gaza Strip. Now is the time for the Western powers to impose sanctions on this fascist whose job it is to destabilize the region with his messianic ambitions."

According to the US newspaper, Israel is planning six possible settlements in Gaza after the end of the war which started on October 7, 2023.

'Israeli settlements in Lebanon'

This is not the first time an Israeli organization "imagined" building settlements in other land, once Israel announced advancing in its ground operation plans in southern Lebanon, an ad in Hebrew caused controversy online.

Israeli companies released the advertisement to promote real estate sales in southern Lebanon from which over 1 million people were displaced. The ad's headline reads: "It's time for a home in Lebanon."
