This statement naturally caused destress in Pakistan as gay sex is illegal in the country and whoever does it can be jailed between two years and a whopping lifetime. Pakistan is also known to have a conservative Islamic culture making it difficult for gay people to express themselves and their feelings.
The application added that the club was going to be named "Lorenzo gay club" and that "there would be no gay (or non-gay) sex (other than kissing)."
Abbottabad's office told Telegram that they received the application and looked into it like any other proposal it gets sent from locals.

According to the Telegraph, the applicant was detained at Sarhad Hospital for psychiatric disease in Peshawar on May 9, 2024, but the news circulated just recently.
