'Please don't kill me': Lebanese official Pascal Sleiman's last words before kidnap

ALBAWABA - Lebanon is still in shock after the kidnapping of the Lebanese Force's Jbeil official Pascal Sleiman while he was passing through the town of Haqel in the Jbeil city district.

The kidnapping attempt took place while the Lebanese official was returning from performing a funeral service. Two Syrian men were arrested by the Lebanese authorities, Naharnet reported. 

According to reports, the army is on high alert to locate the place Sleiman was taken to and liberate him, while media outlets reportedly said that he is unharmed and is inside Syria or in an area near the border. 

Nonetheless, an army intelligence force in Akkar is currently under an operation to find his place and arrest the gang behind his kidnap.

According to a friend who claimed to have heard what happened during the kidnapping, saying he was talking to the Lebanese official Pascal Sleiman on the phone when he was surprised.

He reportedly said that he heard the official begging the kidnappers not to kill him, saying in the Lebanese dialect: "No, no, not in my head...don’t kill me, I have children."

The young man confirmed in an audio recording published by local Lebanese media that the man disappeared after this call.

Furthermore, protesters took to the streets in Jbeil and all stores were closed in the city in protest of Pascal Sleiman's kidnap.
