ALBAWABA - German sportswear company Puma announced on Tuesday that it will be parting ways with the National Israeli football team but the decision didn't come from Israel's ongoing aggression on Gaza.
Puma said that the decision was "made a year ago and has nothing to do with the boycott campaigns." the sportswear company used to sponsor the Israeli football team with football equipment and jerseys.

According to Al Arabiya, Puma will no longer provide the team with kits and equipment starting in 2024 as internal employees told the Financial Times that the decision was made for solely financial reasons.
The decision came after Puma decided to be part of a “fewer-bigger-better” scheme to become more selective in its marketing.
Several users and people in support of Palestine accused Puma of supporting and recognizing Israel as a state with a recent protest in Britain in front of one of Puma's storefronts calling for a boycott.
Others speculated that the decision might not have been made for "financial reasons" but in fear of boycotts and cancelation from the public.
Puma was not the only brand to receive backlash

Spanish clothing brand Zara caused controversy with its newest fashion campaign showing pictures of a new limited-edition collection by imitating the suffering and destruction in Gaza caused by Israeli airstrikes.
This naturally caused outrage in the world for its inhumane take on the ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza with people demanding the boycott of Zara.
