ALBAWABA — Retired Major General Yitzhak Brik has sent out a severe warning on Israel's vulnerable position, speculating that if the present fight with Hamas and Hezbollah continues, the country may fall within a year.

Brik chastised Defense Minister Yoav Gallant in a Haaretz piece for making false claims on the efficacy of Israel's military actions in Gaza.

Brik stated that Gallant had misled the people by promising an immediate triumph and total control over Gaza, claims that have since been substantiated. Brik asserts that Gallant's recent acknowledgements on the inability to attain "total victory" and the deteriorating circumstances in Gaza underscore the grave difficulties confronting Israel.

The retired general went on to say that Israel's internal conflicts and economic downturn are becoming worse, which is worsening the country's circumstances. Additionally, he blasted Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for putting up demands that have complicated efforts to come to an accord with Hamas regarding prisoner swap.

Brik cautioned that the likelihood of a wider regional confrontation is rising due to Netanyahu's uncompromising position and poor negotiation techniques.

Brik finished by stating that Israel would soon face an irreversible crisis point and that only a significant shift in leadership could prevent what he called an existential threat to the nation.
