ALBAWABA - A picture being shared on social media allegedly showcased Russian soldiers wearing a badge of the Palestinian flag in solidarity with Gaza amid the ongoing Israeli aggression on the Strip since Oct. 7.

The picture gained traction after controversial media personality Jackson Hinkle reshared the photo on his official X (formerly known as Twitter) account showcasing one soldier allegedly wearing the patch on his Russian military uniform while the other had a "V" badge with a black background.

Some users claimed on X that the "V" badge, could be about the Al-Aqsa Flood operation that was launched by Hamas on Oct. 7, 2023, to fight the ongoing Israeli occupation.

However, the Russian Ministry of Defence (MoD) posted on Instagram that the "V" symbol stands for "strength is in truth." Meanwhile, the "Z" symbol is an abbreviation of the phrase "for victory".

Jackson's post was captioned as follows: "Russian soldiers STAND WITH PALESTINE!"

Israel's ongoing aggression on Gaza has resulted in the killing of more than 27,000 Palestinians of whom are children. more details on the matter can be found below.

Hamas announced on Oct. 7 a military operation called "Al-Aqsa Flood" against Israel making it the biggest offensive by the group in decades.

Palestinian fighters “infiltrated” Israel from the Gaza Strip, captured military bases, and took hostages as photos and videos went viral online showing Hamas fighters on vehicles inside Israel while others were seen paragliding into occupation territory.

In response, Israeli armed forces announced targeting Hamas positions inside the Gaza Strip. Thousands were killed, and dozens of thousands of others were injured in the Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip.

Since October 7, more than 27,000 have been killed by Israeli airstrikes across the besieged strip, more than half of whom are children and women, the Ministry of Health reported. Additionally, 66,630 Gazans have been injured, with injuries varying between mild and severe.
