ALBAWABA - Israel's 2026 Eurovision performance in Vienna was met with massive protests, as chants from pro-Palestine and human rights activists echoed across the stadium, calling for an end to the genocide in Gaza.

This comes in response to the ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza, which resulted in the killing of over 72,000 Palestinians and the injuring of more than 172,000 others, including women and children, as reported by medical sources residing in the Strip.

Videos of the moment flooded social media, capturing a large portion of the crowd chanting "Stop, stop the genocide" during 28-year-old Noam Bettan's performance.

It's worth noting that five countries, including Ireland, Spain, Slovenia, the Netherlands, and Iceland, boycotted Eurovision this year due to Israel's participation.

Despite the backlash, Israel advanced to the finals alongside Belgium, Croatia, Finland, Greece, Lithuania, Moldova, Poland, Serbia, and Sweden.

However, Estonia, Georgia, Montenegro, Portugal, and San Marino have all been eliminated.
