ALBAWABA - Last night, Britons were treated to a spectacular display of the Aurora Borealis, or Northern Lights, sparking a wave of excitement on social media. However, amidst the awe-inspiring phenomenon, fans of The Simpsons couldn't help but draw parallels to a memorable episode featuring the iconic "Steamed Hams" scene.

In Season 7's "22 Short Films About Springfield," Principal Skinner's attempt to pass off fast food as his own cooking to Superintendent Chalmers has become a fan-favorite moment. As the northern lights illuminated the skies across the UK, many couldn't resist making witty references to Skinner's comical excuse of the phenomenon.

Social media platforms were flooded with humorous remarks, with one fan humorously noting the coincidence of witnessing the aurora borealis after having burgers for dinner. Another playfully quoted Chalmers's incredulous response from the episode, "Aurora Borealis? At this time of day, at this time of year, at this part of the country, localized entirely in the UK?"

While the natural spectacle delighted viewers, it was The Simpsons fans who added an extra layer of amusement to the evening's events. The episode's enduring popularity and cultural impact were once again evident as fans reminisced about the iconic "Steamed Hams" scene in light of the real-life phenomenon.

Simpsons fans added to a great night beneath the Northern Lights with their hilarious mix of pop culture and nature.

The rare sighting of the Northern Lights was attributed to a combination of clear skies and enhanced solar activity, with the UK experiencing one of the strongest geomagnetic storms in years. Despite the shorter nights with warmer weather, enthusiasts were advised to seize the opportunity to witness the celestial display between 10.00pm and 2.00am.

Forecasters predicted that the UK's northern regions will continue to provide the best viewing. Northerners hoped to see the aurora borealis again, even if southerners missed it.

As meteorologists monitored the situation, it was predicted that northern regions of the UK would continue to offer the best viewing potential. While some in the south might miss out on the spectacle, northerners remained hopeful for another chance to catch a glimpse of the aurora borealis.

In a delightful fusion of pop culture and nature's wonders, The Simpsons fans added their signature humor to an already magical night under the Northern Lights.
