ALBAWABA - A photo went viral on the internet in the past few hours, reportedly showing policemen in Thailand wearing dresses as a cover-up to catch a suspect.
A group of mostly male officers circulated for heading undercover as a female dance troupe to capture a notorious drug dealer in Thailand, the New York Post reported Tuesday.
The cross-dressing policemen posted a photo on Facebook as they posed in sparkly dresses and smiling broadly after the successful operation in Tha Luang, eastern the country.
Five male policemen and one female cop were seen in the viral picture, all were wearing sparkling dresses.
According to the police, the drug dealer is named Mekha Fa-wap-wap, and he was found with 53 methamphetamine pills, in addition to over 200 plastic bags to hold drugs and a mobile phone.

However, it turned out that the viral image of Thai policemen wearing colourful dresses for a drug-smuggling raid was AI-generated, the police officer who originally posted it confirmed to AFP.
Despite the fact that many important media outlets shared the news and said it was a genuine police sting operation in Thailand, the picture was generated using artificial intelligence.
"I wanted to create a friendlier image of the police -- showing a cute and humorous side -- so that people would feel more comfortable approaching officers," he told AFP on Tuesday.
