ALBAWABA - Shortly after the news that the helicopter carrying Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and Iran's Foreign Minister crashed on Sunday, speculations and rumors emerged that the Iranian president might have "died".
The helicopter was also carrying Iran's Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian and several other officials when it had a "hard landing" in East Azerbaijan Province on May 19.
According to IRNA news agency, the condition of Ebrahim Raisi, officials and crew is currently unknown. Rescue groups immediately moved to search for the Iranian president's helicopter, however, weather conditions are making it hard.
Theories on Iranian president's helicopter crash, speculations surround his fate
Some social media users launched multiple theories behind the Iranian president's helicopter crash. A group of people are claiming that it might be an assassination attempt against the Iranian leader as part of a bigger plan which they allegedly explained to be an "attempted coup" in the country.
Meanwhile, others are allegedly saying the crash was planned by either the United States or Israel, and supporting their theory with the latest exchange or missile attacks between Israel and Iran in April.
On the other hand, some claimed that several officials in Iran have changed their social media profile pictures to black which could be a hint that the Iranian leader might have "died" along with others on board.
Despite theories emerging online, official Iranian media didn't reveal anything related to the cause of the crash nor did it give any details about the condition of the Iranian president or others who were onboard the helicopter.
