His grieving father wrote, "My son had dinner with me last Friday after the prayer sounded. He left and I didn't know anything about him since. I found out from my neighbors and family that my son stole a car filter from them and is now tied up in a house."

He added, "They tortured him all night long until he died. Half an hour later, I found a tuk-tuk (A small taxi used vastly in Egypt) coming with my son's lifeless body, and they threw him in front of the house."

The victim's father later accused the culprits of killing his son which later led to their arrest by security services. Amid their arrest, the culprits confessed to committing the crime, claiming that the victim tried to rob them by stealing a car's filter.

The culprits were also sent to the public prosecution center so that local authorities in Egypt could investigate the matter further.
