ALBAWABA - US President Donald Trump recently made headlines after a heated call with Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday over the ongoing Israeli aggression against Lebanon, according to Axios, citing two US officials.

Israel is currently expanding large-scale military operations in southern and central Lebanon to push Hezbollah forces back, destroy infrastructure, and seize territory. According to the Lebanon Health Ministry, the ongoing Israeli attacks resulted in the killing of over 3,400 Lebanese people, including women and children.

In response, Trump told Netanyahu during a call on Monday, while not holding back on explicit language: "You’re f***ing crazy. You’d be in prison if it weren’t for me. I’m saving your a**. Everybody hates you now. Everybody hates Israel because of this."

Reports indicate that Trump's disapproval of Israel's actions is linked to his negotiations with Iran, a source said.

Trump took to Truth Social and wrote, "I had a conversation with Bibi Netanyahu today, asking him not to go into a major raid of Beirut, Lebanon. He turned his Troops around."

He added, "Thank you Bibi! I also had a conversation with Representatives of the Leaders of Hezbollah, and they agreed to stop shooting at Israel, and its soldiers. Likewise, Israel agreed to stop shooting at them. Let’s see how long that lasts — Hopefully it will be for ETERNITY!"

On the contrary, Netanyahu said in a statement that Israel will continue its aggression against Lebanon, while Hezbollah has accepted the US's proposal for a mutual ceasefire.
