ALBAWABA - During his recent debate with Vice President and current elect Kamala Harris, Donald Trump went viral on TikTok after several users started using "They’re eating the dogs, they’re eating the cats" as the sound of their reels.
The TikTok reels in question had users doing different activities like dancing, acting, and voicing the quoted verse across the platforms. The internet is just doing what it's been doing for a long time by taking serious matters including politics or social issues and making fun of it.
The statement above came from Trump amid rumors that Haitian immigrants in Springfield, Ohio are "hunting and killing animals" in the area. Additionally, some claims also stated that they are reportedly feasting on them which proved to be false by local Springfield police the other day, according to Springfield News-Sun.
Police added that it's "not something that’s on their radar right now."
Trump's "They’re eating the dogs, they’re eating the cats" turned into a TikTok trend
the reels received mixed reactions from social media users with several finding the TikTok trend funny, while others expressed their anger through comment sections discussing them.
A user on X (formerly known as Twitter) expressed their anger about the TikTok reels and said, "Well don't they look like Fools for Mocking it!! Because they are...there is Proof!! Just the next trend for views!! Stupid really! Wait till they come for their pets! Then they will make a cry fest video..."
Another wrote, Spread the word, Hands off our cats, dogs, geese, ducks, farm animals."
"Seriously. This is shallow and not funny. Are the people who are losing pets to this going to find this amusing? Are the people who should care about the issue supposed to watch all of this and take it seriously?"
