ALBAWABA - Anger hits Iraq after a video went viral of a person beating an infant who was wearing a Spanish FC Barcelona shirt following El Clásico, which ended with Real Madrid’s 3-2 victory over Barcelona, last Sunday.

The clip was posted by the Iraqi women's rights organization "Sandha" on Monday on Facebook showing a person filming an infant wearing a FC Barcelona shirt and hitting him in the face until the child cried in fear and pain, then he picked him up by his shirt.

The organization wrote a caption: "The person who always says a woman is emotionally, punished a child for losing a football game. Who is more important... the health and psychology of your child or your team that you support, we want information about the owner of the video so that we can file a complaint against him."

While many claimed that the child in the video was his son, other Iraqi accounts said that "the video’s owner is a Real Madrid fan and gloated over Barcelona’s loss in El Clásico by hitting his nephew, whose father supports the opposing team."

Journalist Stephen Nabil called on the Ministry of the Interior to take action against the person who filmed himself beating the infant to create comic content. He said : "What happened is a crime and he must be held legally accountable."
