ALBAWABA - A video circulating across social media platforms took the internet by storm after users witnessed an Israeli man stepping on an explosive landmine after trying to remove the Palestinian flag in the West Bank.

According to users across X (formerly Twitter), the video took place in the occupied Kochav Hashachar settlement near the city of Ramallah, West Bank, and showed the Israeli man walking into an empty field where a single Palestinian flag was raised as he tried to violently kick it triggering an explosion.

One user added, "Not sure if he's dead or not". The video stopped immediately after the man kicked the flag and triggered an explosion.

According to Al Quds news, the man didn't die but instead just suffered from injuries. The video in question had a woman screaming in Hebrew to voice her anger about the presence of the Palestinian flag in an Israeli-occupied territory.

Pro-Palestine activists and users took to the video's comment section to praise the person responsible for planting the mine there but by the time of writing this article, the individual in question is unknown.

Several activists reported that the landmine placement might have allegedly been in response to the Israeli attack in Ramallah, West Bank which resulted in the burning of dozens of homes and cars, opening fire on residents which led to the death of a young man and the injury of dozens.

The technique used is called a flag ambush which "embodies a profound concept of Palestinian resistance in all its forms, in which the flag emerges as a symbol of culture, knowledge, and at the same time is used as a weapon in defense of land and dignity.
