ALBAWABA - A video circulating on social media captured the moment US Representative Ilhan Omar got sprayed with an unknown substance by a man with a syringe at a town hall event in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
According to AFP, the man was tackled by security guards and led out of the premises.
Ilhan Omar took to X (formerly Twitter) and wrote, "I’m ok. I’m a survivor so this small agitator isn’t going to intimidate me from doing my work. I don’t let bullies win. Grateful to my incredible constituents who rallied behind me. Minnesota strong."

The BBC reported that Omar was unharmed and kept speaking at the town hall event in Minneapolis for an additional 25 minutes. The incident occurred after the US representative urged US Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem to resign or face impeachment.
Seconds before she was sprayed by the unknown substance, Omar also said that, "ICE cannot be reformed."
Police department spokesperson Trevor Folke told reporters that the man was identified as 55-year-old Anthony Kazmierczak, who was detained on assault charges and put in Hennepin County Jail.
