ALBAWABA - Amid the fall of Bashar Assad's regime, missing American journalist Austin Tice who disappeared back in 2012 while reporting in Syria, has been reportedly spotted on the outskirts of Damascus in a newly shared video on social media. 

The video indicates that the Syrian rebel army led by Abu Mohammad al-Julani found Tice in al-Dhiyabiya, near Damascus. The video showcases a man sleeping on a floor mattress as a Syrian citizen points at him and claims that he's none other than the missing American journalist, Austin Tice. 

When found, Tice was reportedly barefooted and described as disoriented. Moreover, after they took him in and reportedly fed and treated him.

According to social media users on Musk's X (formerly known as Twitter), the US government has yet to inform Tice's family about the reported video in question due to it not being fully official and factual by the time of writing this article. 

Austin Tice was 31 years old when he went missing back in 2012 while reporting in Damascus about the uprising against former Syrian president Bashar Assad but the government at the time denied holding him in.
