Before damaging it with a hammer, the Benjamin Netanyahu wax statue was covered in red paint, symbolizing blood, in reference to the innocent lives lost during the ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza since Oct. 7, 2023.

Moreover, a Palestinian flag was lying down which might've belonged to the protestor before he accidentally dropped it before smashing the statue.

According to The Jerusalem Post, In a detailed video shared by BDS Mexico, an activist said, "I have the responsibility to take down this war criminal because the Wax Museum in Mexico City forgot to cover it with the blood of 40,000 Palestinians."

They added, "I do this by embracing the Jewish people, whom I love dearly, and whose identity has been hijacked by these genocidal [people]. These war criminals are not welcome in our city."
