ALBAWABA - The internet buzzed with the story of seven stolen dogs which managed to escape their fate and made it safely to their homes in northeastern China.

A heartwarming video went viral online showing seven little dogs that were stolen from their families and loaded onto a truck for the illegal dog meat trade.

The incident happened near Changchun in Jilin province in China when thieves stole seven neighborhood dogs from local families and loaded them onto a truck for the illegal dog meat trade.

The dogs, a mix of golden retrievers, labradors, a Pekingese, and others, were able to escape from the meat truck and trekked 17 kilometers over two days, sticking in a tight formation with bigger dogs protecting the injured one, according to the South China Morning Post.

According to activists online, they ignored helpful strangers and reached their home by March 19 with minor injuries, reuniting tearfully with owners who had lost hope, while police investigate the theft using video evidence.

A Corgi led the group and repeatedly turned to check on the others, highlighting that there was an injured German Shepherd. Other breeds, including Golden Retrievers, Labradors, and a Pekingese, followed closely behind.

Animal lovers online called the Corgi dog a hero and urged animation movie producers to create a special film about the seven dogs.
