ALBAWABA - A video that went viral in Turkey caused a buzz after a man was seen attempting to kidnap a woman in the middle of a day in Turkey's Adana. 

In the clip, a man in a black car stopped while a woman was seen walking in the street. He rapidly got out of the car and grabbed the woman, trying to kidnap her.

Many witnesses allegedly reported that the man was trying to kidnap his wife after she called for a divorce but he refused. 

One of the witnesses said: "The man was her husband and the woman wanted a divorce but he refused and wanted to take her back by force."

A person commented: "There are many problems against women in Turkey, to the point that you feel that their blood has become very cheap in Turkey. During this month alone, clips of more than one crime against women have spread." Another X user said: "Turkey is not safe for women". 

According to local media, the man in the video was arrested by the police after the incident. 

Crimes against women in Turkey are on the rise as many shocking videos of people assaulting women; either their sisters or wives, have circulated online. 

The last incident which caused a huge shock in Turkey was when a man slaughtered two women and cut the head of one of them in 30 minutes at a historical site in Fatih, Istanbul.

Semih Çelik committed suicide by jumping off the city walls, but before that, he killed two women, both 19; Ayşenur Halil in Eyüpsultan at around 15.30 and İkbal Uzuner in Fatih at around 16.00.
